Life isn’t always tidy—and what you're navigating may not fit in a single category. That’s okay.
If you're wondering whether we’d be a good fit, I’d love to connect.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC.0013177) in Colorado with over a decade of experience supporting adults through seasons of transition, challenge, and growth. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary in 2014 and have spent much of my career in higher education, walking alongside clients with a wide range of mental health needs.
My work is rooted in a strong foundation of supporting young adults, especially around mental health and career development. Today, I work with people from all walks of life navigating anxiety, women’s issues, neurodivergence, life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, parenting, and more.
At the heart of my approach is a commitment to creating a space that feels collaborative, compassionate, and respectful of your unique story. I bring a grounded, thoughtful presence to my work and focus on helping you connect with your strengths as you move toward deeper awareness and well-being.
If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect for a brief phone call to hear more about what you’re looking for and see if working together feels like the right next step.
Hi, I’m Kristin
Owner & Licensed Professional Counselor
Golden Counseling Collective is currently a solo practice, but the name reflects both the collaborative nature of therapy and a broader vision for the future. Counseling is a shared process between therapist and client, and over time, I hope to expand into a community of professionals offering integrated mental health care here in Golden, Colorado
Approach to Counseling
Whether you are just starting counseling or have had a counselor previously, it is often unknown to the client how a counselor approaches their work. It is within my values as a counselor to inform my clients of the modalities and approach I take to help them find hope and meaning in their lives. Counseling shouldn’t be a one-fit approach. Therefore, I listen to the client and use a variety of tools and empirically backed modalities to guide clients into more centered, regulated, and healthy lives.
Strengths-Based Approach
We’ll focus on identifying and building upon your existing strengths, helping you move forward with confidence.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected, working to shift unhelpful patterns into more supportive ones.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Rather than fighting difficult emotions, we’ll focus on accepting them and taking meaningful actions toward your values.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Having a solution focused approach allows both the counselor and client to understand what they are working towards, together. Original goals in counseling can and often will shift over time, but having a goal you are working towards keeps each session grounded and intentional.
Somatic Therapy
Understanding that emotions live in the body, we’ll incorporate body-based techniques to help regulate the nervous system and promote healing.
Neuroscience Education
Knowledge is power. I provide insights into how the brain and nervous system functions, helping you better understand your emotions, reactions, and ways to create lasting change.
